Before the DC Universe sees whatever reimaging is in store under James Gunn and Peter Safran, Shazam! Fury of the Gods arrives in March for most likely the final adventure with the Shazam family. A few years after the first movie, Billy Batson (Asher Angel), who transforms into the superhero Shazam (Zachary Levi), finds himself up against the Daughter of Atlas (Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu), who believe they are the true heirs to the power that Billy and his family wield and are willing to destroy the entire world to get it. Djimon Hounsou returns as the wizard Shazam along with Jack Dylan Glazer (whose alter ego is Adam Brody) and Grace Fulton plays both forms of Mary Bromfield aka Mary Marvel. West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler also co-star as Anthea, another Daughter of Atlas who seems to be on Shazam’s side. David F. Sandberg returns to direct and the movie is out on March 17th.
