Jacob Elordi faces a post-apocalyptic world in The Dog Stars, directed by Ridley Scott, when it opens in August. Based on the 2012 novel by Peter Heller, Elordi plays Hig, a pilot surviving in a world ravaged by a catastrophic flu virus. Along with his dog, Hig has allies in Bangley (Josh Brolin), a former Marine, and Cima (Margaret Qualley), a medic. The group faces marauding gangs of Reapers while searching for a place that might restore some semblance of the old world. Benedict Wong and Guy Pearce co-star. The movie was written by Mark L. Smith, who most recently wrote Twisters and The Mosquito Bowl, and co-created the Netflix series Untamed.  The Dog Stars is in theaters on August 28th, and you can check out the trailer below.
