A sinister serial killer stalks Netflix in August with the debut of The Whisper Man. Adam Scott plays a widowed crime writer, Tom Kennedy, whose eight-year-old son Jake (Acston Luca Porto) is kidnapped. The method of the kidnapping seems to point to a serial killer known as The Whisper Man, but he was captured decades ago by Tom’s estranged father (and retired police detective), Pete Willis (Robert De Niro). Tom seeks Pete’s help to find Jake, and Michelle Monaghan co-stars as Detective Amanda Beck, who is assigned to the new string of abductions; Michael Keaton, John Carroll Lynch, Hamish Linklater, Owen Teague, and Will Brill co-star. The movie is based on the novel by Alex North, and it’s directed by James Ashcroft, who most recently directed The Rule of Jenny Pen. The Whisper Man arrives on Netflix on August 28th, and you can check out the trailer below.
