Ryan Reynolds gets stuck behind enemy lines in the upcoming action comedy Mayday. Set in 1987, the film stars Reynolds as Troy “Assassin” Kelly, a Navy pilot who is shot down on a spy mission over the Soviet Union. Rescued by a carpenter named Nikolai Ustinov (Kenneth Branagh), Troy discovers that Nikolai greatly admires America and its culture and is willing to help him escape from the Soviet forces hunting him. Nikolai also turns out to be a secret badass with lethal combat skills. Marcin Dorociński, Maria Bakalova, and David Morse co-star. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the team behind Game Night and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, wrote and directed the film. Mayday debuts on Apple TV on September 4th, and you can check out the trailer below.
