
The stop-motion wizards at Laika are back in October with what looks like their biggest and most epic film yet, Wildwood.  Based on the 2011 novel by Colin Meloy and Carson Ellis, Peyton Elizabeth Lee stars as Prue McKeel, whose infant brother Mac is kidnapped by crows and taken into the wilderness outside their home in Portland. Joined by her classmate Curtis Mehlberg (Jacob Tremblay), Prue sets out on a quest to find her brother and discovers a magical world full of ancient witches, wolf soldiers, giant eagles, and more. Carey Mulligan, Richard E. Grant, Awkwafina, Amandla Stenberg, Tom Waits, Charlie Day, Blythe Danner, Arthur Knight, Maya Erskine, Jake Johnson, Tantoo Cardinal, Rob Delaney, Jemaine Clement, Marc Evan Jackson, Len Cariou, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Angela Bassett, and Mahershala Ali co-star. Travis Knight returns to directing at Laika (he’s their current CEO) after directing Bumblebee and the upcoming Masters of the Universe.  Wildwood is out on October 23rd, and you can check out the trailer below.
