Delayed till the fall, Joe Wright’s fantastical take on the origin of Peter Pan is arriving in October and a new trailer is out. Telling the story of Peter’s first trip to Neverland, he encounters the pirate Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman), who rules with an iron fist. Peter (Levi Miller) allies himself with a young James Hook (Garret Hedlund) and Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara) and tries to become the legendary hero he’s prophesied to be to free Neverland. The visuals look completely out there, it makes Hook look gritty and realistic by comparision, and the re-jiggering seems a little strange, especially the “Hook and Peter were friends once” part but check out the trailer and decide for yourself.
