Everything Action Theater: Pacific Rim

Paying homage to kaiju movies, mecha anime, and whatever else he was a fan of, Guillermo Del Toro brought us Pacific Rim in 2013, which you can watch for the latest Everything Action Theater.  Starring Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi and Idris Elba, Pacific Rim followed the battle between Jaegers, giant mechs piloted by pilots who needed to be telepathically linked via “drifting” and Kaiju, giant monsters who emerge via interdimensional portals.  As the Kaiju get bigger and more powerful, humanity needs to figure out a way to stop them or face apocalyptic destruction.  The movie features massive battle sequences that showcase the scale and impact of giant robots punching giant monsters and iconic moments like Idris Elba’s motivational speech.  The movie was a massive hit, especially in China where it earned over $114 million, and it got a sequel, a Netflix anime series, and even a theme park ride to continue the franchise.   You can watch the entire movie below thanks to YouTube.
