Floodgate Games is spreading some much-needed positive vibes this month, shining a light on how games—and the people who play them—can make a real difference. Their latest “Feel Good Friday” update puts the spotlight on events, fans, and local game stores that are using laughter, dice, and cards to bring people together and help communities.

In Minnesota, Floodgate helped host “Tipsy Tabletop Tuesday” at King Coil Spirits, where seven indie publishers showed off their games to support Everymeal.org. The charity-focused night of cocktails, demos, and prizes is happening every second Tuesday of the month, with the next one happening on October 14. Publisher Games by James will continue to contribute raffle prizes, while October’s charity pick will once again benefit Everymeal.org.
Floodgate also shared a story from Kayla, a therapist who has found creative ways to bring their games into her practice. Titles like Kites and Skyrockets have been used to strengthen relationships, improve frustration tolerance, and foster cooperation between siblings and families. Floodgate gave her a big shout-out for showing how even lighthearted tabletop titles can have meaningful applications in real-world settings.

The Floodgate team also recently attended the Alliance Open House in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The industry event gave them a chance to connect directly with friendly local game stores, which remain vital hubs for players across the country. These shops not only keep board gaming culture alive but also provide safe spaces for folks to connect, play, and find their people.
Floodgate closed things out with some exciting news for fans waiting on their next release: Squirrel Away is officially hitting retail shelves on October 28. After a successful run at Gen Con, the game is almost ready for players everywhere, with deluxe editions available directly through Floodgate.
Floodgate Games continues to prove that tabletop gaming isn’t just about rolling dice or shuffling cards—it’s about building communities, helping others, and making the world a little brighter, one game at a time.
