A streaming hit during the pandemic in 2020, Greenland is getting a sequel, Greenland 2: Migration, in theaters next year. Gerard Butler is back as John Garrity, who managed to get his family to safety in underground bunkers in Greenland when the Clarke comet impacted with Earth, destroying the surface civilization. Five years later, life in the bunker is wearing thin, but there’s a potential new area of safety in the crater left by the impact of Clarke in southern France. John, along with his wife, Allison (Morena Baccarin), and their son, Nathan (Roman Griffith), sets out into the devastated wasteland of the surface to try and reach this potential oasis. Other surviving humans, radiation storms, and the still-falling comet fragments make the trip extremely dangerous. Ric Roman Waugh returned to direct the film, having previously directed the first movie, and screenwriter Chris Sparling also returned from the first movie. Greenland 2: Migration is out on January 9th next year, and you can check out the trailer below.
