Nicholas Cage is Joseph in a horror spin on the younger years of Jesus in The Carpenter’s Son. Based on the Infancy Gospel of Thomas, a gospel not included in the official canon of the Bible, which describes Jesus’ childhood and how he learned to control his powers, initially inspiring fear among those who witness them. Noah Jupe plays Jesus and FKA Twigs plays Mary. Moving secretly from town to town, the family begins to experience supernatural forces while staying in a remote village in Egypt, as Jesus is tempted by a mysterious stranger (Isla Johnson), who tries to lure him away from his father’s teachings. The movie, directed by Lotfy Nathan, will arrive in theaters on November 14th. Check out the trailer below.
