Genndy Tartakovsky’s brutally brilliant animated series Primal is back for Season 3 in January, and things look to be getting even darker. *Spoilers* While the finale of Season 2 seemed to tease that the series might continue with the adventures of caveman Spear’s (Aaron LaPlante) daughter and dinosaur Fang (Joel Valentine) and her brood of T. rexes, it appears the new season will instead follow a reanimated, zombie Spear as he gets into bloody battles across the show’s prehistoric world. The trailer teases a battle between the former allies, along with the return of the horrific big bad, The Chieftain (Fred Tatasciore), a Viking chief who is transformed into a fiery demon and mortally wounded Spear before being dragged back into the underworld. Primal returns on Adult Swim on January 11th and debuts the next day on HBO Max. Check out the trailer below.
