Joining the ranks of Reacher and Cross, another literary crime solver is coming to Prime Video in March with the new series Scarpetta. Based on the book series by Patricia Cromwell, Nicole Kidman plays Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a chief medical examiner and pathologist, using forensics to help solve crimes. Her first major case after being reinstated as the Chief Medical Examiner seems to indicate a serial killer is on the loose, and it has ties back to the very first case Scarpetta ever investigated. Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, Ariana DeBose, Rosy McEwen, and Simon Baker co-star. The series was created by Liz Sarnoff, who has previously worked on shows like Lost, Deadwood, Barry, and NYPD Blue. Blumhouse Television is also producing the series along with Amazon. Scarpetta debuts on March 11th with an episode directed by David Gordon Green, and you can check out the trailer below.
