Rutger Hauer stars as John Ryder, a terrifying hitchhiking serial killer who targets Jim Halsey (C. Thomas Howell), who is on the road trying to deliver a car from Chicago to San Diego. Ryder starts to stalk and terrorize Jim, pushing him to the edge and trying to get him to finally snap and kill Ryder. Zach and Chris discuss Hauer’s amazing performance, the odd business of drive-away car delivery, the bizarre cut-away from the most horrific moment in the film, how everyone in the area besides Jennifer Jason Leigh’s Nash is a trigger-happy cop, and more.
