House of the Dragon finally returns to HBO/HBO Max this Sunday (6/21) as the third season continues the civil war between the Targaryens 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. Known as the “Dance of Dragons”, the war for Westeros is between “The Blacks”, who follow Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), and “The Greens,” who back Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and her children, who control the Iron Throne in King’s Landing. Season 2 was pretty disappointing, but reviews for the new season seem to indicate that it’s found its groove again and is offering up some massive fantasy action alongside the usual intrigue and drama. HBO released an official recap of both Seasons 1 and 2 that you can check out below to get refreshed before Season 3 begins.
