Rugrats in Paris opened 25 years ago in theaters, and one of the songs that Angelica (Cheryl Chase) was listening to on the flight overseas was “My Getaway” by T-Boz. A member of TLC, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins had previously released a solo song, “Touch Myself,” from the 1996 soundtrack Fled. A self-professed Rugrats fan, she was more than happy to contribute to the movie’s soundtrack. In addition to appearing in the film on the scene where the Rugrats are flying to Europe, the song also appears during the end credits, alongside “Who Let the Dogs Out?” by Baha Men and “When You Love” by Sinéad O’Connor. For the music video, directed by music video director Christopher Erskin, T-Boz appears leading a Rugrats themed parade through the streets while dancers dressed as Chuckie keep a hold on the Rugrat balloons. T-Boz herself later appears as a balloon and as a giantess, wielding bubblegum ropes. Clips from the film also appear throughout. You can check it out below.
