The 2009 Bruce Willis movie Surrogates wrapped up its android murder mystery with the Breaking Benjamin song, “I Will Not Bow”, which also got a Surrogates-heavy music video. The movie follows Willis as FBI Agent Tom Greer, who lives in a world where society functions via androids called Surrogates, with real humans staying indoors and living through their robotic selves. When the first real murder in years occurs, Greer is forced to leave his Surrogate body and investigate with his own flesh and blood body to unravel a conspiracy. The movie did OK at the box office and received mixed reviews from critics. While not featured on the movie’s soundtrack album, Breaking Benjamin’s “I Will Not Bow” was the credits song for Surrogates. The song was also included on the band’s album Dear Agony and was the lead single. It reached #40 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was used heavily by the MLB Network for its lead-in and lead-out music during the 2010 MLB season. There were two versions of the music video shot, one with Surrogates clips and imagery and one without. Obviously, we’re featuring the Surrogates version below.
