Ethan Hunt Faces The Final Reckoning in May (Trailer)
Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt in May next year for the 8th entry in the Mission: Impossible series, The Final Reckoning. Picking up directly from 2023’s Dead Reckoning, Ethan and the IMF team continue their quest against “The Entity,” an extremely powerful AI that can manipulate anything digital. After recovering a cruciform key, Ethan and his team need to find the lost Russian sub called the Sevastopol, which holds The Entity’s source code and would allow it to be destroyed or controlled. The Entity has a human agent in the form of Gabriel (Esai Morales), who also has ties to Ethan’s past. Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Czerny, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham and Angela Bassett co-star. Christopher McQuarrie returns to direct what is seemingly being billed as the final entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise. Dead Reckoning was a financial disappointment after becoming one of the most expensive movies ever, so it may be time to wrap up the series. Hopefully, it will go out on a high note if it is the end.
