This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris try to avoid the wrath of Frendo and discuss Clown in a Cornfield, which hit theaters earlier this year and is out on Blu-ray/4K . (Spoiler Warning)
Based on the YA horror novel by Adam Cesare, Clown in a Cornfield follows teenager Quinn Maybrook (Katie Douglas) and her father Glenn (Aaron Abrams) as they move from Philadelphia to the small town of Kettle Springs, MO. Once famous for its Baypen Corn Syrup factory, the town has fallen into a rundown state. Quinn befriends a group of teens who create viral horror movies and pull pranks on each other, who fill her in on the local legend, Frendo the Clown. Frendo becomes all too real when he appears and starts killing the group one by one. Zach and Chris discuss Quinn’s shaky Philly accent, how the villain’s plot helps the town’s financial situation, the movie’s best kills, the clever twists on the slasher genre, similarities to movies like Hot Fuzz and Thanksgiving, and more.
