Zootopia 2 returned to the #1 spot at the box office and crossed over the $1 billion mark worldwide.
Zootopia 2 moved back into first after being second to Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 last weekend. The movie made another $25.8 million domestically, bringing its domestic total to $258.5 million, and it now has $1.13 billion worldwide. It’s officially the highest-grossing Hollywood film worldwide for 2025, surpassing Lilo & Stitch, but still nowhere close to China’s Ne Zha 2, which has grossed over $2 billion. It’s currently the ninth-highest-grossing film domestically, between How to Train Your Dragon and Captain America: Brave New World.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 slid to second place with a massive 70% drop from last weekend, making another $19.3 million domestically. It has $95.3 million in total domestic gross for two weeks out. That massive drop indicates the movie was heavily front-loaded and that fans rushed out to see it, but it may not be drawing repeat business or many non-fans into theaters. Worldwide, it has $173.6 million.
Wicked: For Good remained in third, dropping another 51% and adding another $8.5 million domestically, bringing its domestic total to $312.1 million. Worldwide, it has $468.3 million.
Dhurandhar and Now You See Me: Now You Don’t rounded out the top 5. Dhurandhar saw a 62% increase from last weekend, bringing in $3.4 million and bringing its domestic total to $7.7 million. It has $8.6 million worldwide.
Ella McCay opened outside the top 5 in seventh place with just $2 million in 2,500 theaters. That is the fifth-worst opening of all time for 2,500+ theaters, between Friend Request and Life Itself. It was nearly beaten by the re-release of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which returned to 2,250 theaters and grossed $1.9 million.
Rosemead had the best per-theater average, with $29,118 in a single theater over the weekend.
