The Toy Story gang proved to be Supergirl’s kryptonite, as the newest entry in the DC Universe had a terrible opening, allowing Toy Story 5 to remain on top.
Toy Story 5 took in another $70 million in its second weekend of release, bringing its domestic total to $297.2 million and its worldwide gross to $588.4 million. It’s now the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2026 worldwide. It’s currently the third-highest-grossing Toy Story of all time worldwide, as both Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 both grossed over $1 billion.
Supergirl bombed in second place with $37.1 million. That puts it above entries in the previous DC Universe, like Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but well below movies like The Flash and Black Adam.  It’s also a massive drop-off from last year’s Superman, which opened to $125 million. The movie got a B- CinemaScore, which matches the extremely mixed reception it got from fans and critics. We’ll have to see what happens this coming weekend, but analysts are already estimating that Warner Bros/DC will lose about $100 million on Supergirl, which is said to have cost around $170 million to make.
Obsession remained in third place with another $9.7 million, bringing its domestic total to $233.8 million and worldwide to $371.1 million. It’s the eighth-highest-grossing film worldwide in 2026 and should pass Hoppers any time now to become the seventh-highest-grossing film.
Jackass: Best and Last and Disclosure Day rounded out the top 5. The final Jackass film opened to $8.4 million domestically and $10.3 million worldwide. That’s by far the lowest opening in the franchise, with the last entry, Jackass Forever, opening to $23.1 million back in 2022. The movie got a solid A- CinemaScore.  Disclosure Day is now at $195 million worldwide.
Further down the list, BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War — The Calamity opened in ninth place with $1.9 million.
