The Executioners by John D. MacDonald has had two well-received adaptations: the 1962 and 1991 Cape Fear movies, and Apple is looking to add another in June. Turning the story into a limited series, Patrick Wilson and Amy Adams co-star as Tom and Anna Bowden, who served as public defenders for the sinister Max Cady (Javier Bardem). Cady is sent to prison but is eventually released and seeks revenge on the Bowdens, who hid evidence that may have turned the case in Cady’s favor. CCH Pounder co-stars with Margarita Levieva, Patrick Fischler, Ron Perlman, and Ted Levine, having recurring roles. Nick Antosca, who created Channel Zero, created the new Cape Fear, and Martin Scorsese, who directed the 1991 film, and Steven Spielberg are executive producers. The series debuts on June 5th, and you can check out the trailer below.
