The next big chapter of the new DC Universe, Supergirl, hits theaters at the end of June. Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El, the cousin of Superman, who made a drunken appearance at the end of Superman.  Not taking up a life of heroism like her cousin, Kara instead travels around the galaxy partying on various seedy worlds, but, out for her 23rd birthday, she runs afoul of the Brigands, a group of space pirates and traffickers. Her beloved dog, Krypto, is poisoned, and Kara has to team up with a young girl who lost her family to the Brigands, Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), to get the antidote and revenge. Jason Momoa co-stars as fan favorite bounty hunter Lobo, and Matthias Schoenaerts plays Krem of the Yellow Hills, the leader of the Brigands. David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and David Corenswet also appear. Craig Gillepsie, who most recently directed the film Dumb Money, directed the film, which is based on the critically acclaimed comic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely.  Supergirl is in theaters on June 26th, and you can check out the new trailer below.
