
The Social Network finally receives a follow-up as Aaron Sorkin writes and directs The Social Reckoning, which arrives in October. Based on the 2021 Facebook leak, Mikey Madison plays Frances Haugen, an engineer at Facebook who goes to Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horowitz (Jeremy Allen White) to expose information that Meta was aware of the societal harm their platform was causing but ignored it to chase profits. The leaked information led to the Wall Street Journal’s “The Facebook Files” series, and Haugen testified before Congress. Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen, Bill Burr, and Jeremy Strong, who is playing Mark Zuckerberg, co-star. Alexandre Desplat is taking over composing duties from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The Social Reckoning is out on October 9th, and you can check out the trailer below.
