Hocus Pocus has become a beloved Halloween staple for nostalgic 90’s kids and when you have Bette Midler starring as one of the three witches, there’s obviously got to be at least one musical number and there’s a showstopper when the Sanderson Sisters invade the Salem Halloween party and, through magic and Broadway style musicality, enchant all the adults of the town to dance until they die, leaving the heroic trio of the movie to deal with the witches by themselves. Midler sings “I Put a Spell on You” for the scene, which is a cover of the already spooky Jay Hawkins original, which Hawkins performed on stage in a coffin while wearing a cape and Midler’s version has been used at various Disney Halloween events since the movie came out.
