An alternative rock supergroup, Class of ’99, was assembled to provide Robert Rodriguez’s The Faculty with cover versions of both parts of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall.” The band featured Alice in Chains Layne Staley on vocals, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine on lead guitar, Stephen Perkins of Jane’s Addiction on drums, Martyn LeNoble of Porno for Pyros on bass, and Matt Serletic of Collective Soul on keyboard. This would be the final studio performance by Staley, who died in 2002 from a drug overdose. “Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2” was released as a single off the movie soundtrack and reached #18 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. The music video pays homage to Pink Floyd by having soulless students being marched through a school, although Robert Patrick is the one overseeing things. Eventually, Clea Duvall, Shawn Hatosy, Elijah Wood, and Jordana Brewster appear and lead the students against the oppressive conditions. There are also clips from the movie throughout.
