Marvel Animation’s What If…? comes to an end this December with eight final explorations of the MCU multiverse. Jeffrey Wright is back as Uuatu the Watcher, telling tales of how things could have gone differently in the MCU if certain characters lived, died, or made different choices. The exact descriptions of the new episodes haven’t been revealed, but one is a Wild West-themed episode starring Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) and one based on the 70s and 80s anime featuring Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) leading several characters as a team fighting in mechs that combine into the giant Avenger robot. There’s also an Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) episode, and one features Storm (Alison Sealy-Smith) wielding Mjolnir as the Goddess of Thunder. Recurring What If…? characters like Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Kahhori (Devery Jacobs) also return. It looks like everything might be building to a battle against some of Uuatu’s fellow Watchers. Season 3 of What If…? begins on December 22nd, and a new episode drops every day on Disney+ until December 29th. Check out the trailer below.
