Everything Action Theater: The Substitute (1996)
Tom Berenger is a former mercenary turned substitute teacher in the ’90s action movie The Substitute, which you can watch in the latest Everything Action Theater.
When his girlfriend is brutally attacked at the school where she works, Shale (Berenger) goes undercover as the substitute teacher for her class to find out who was behind the attack. He finds a much bigger problem when he discovers the local gang, the Kings of Destruction, are running a massive drug operation with some inside help at the school. Ernie Hudson, Diane Venora, Glen Plummer, William Forsythe, Luis Guzman, Raymond Cruz, and Marc Anthony co-star. The movie was not a particular box office or critical success. Still, it did get a string of direct-to-video sequels, with the late Treat Williams taking over as a new mercenary-turned-teacher, Carl Thomasson, with the final movie coming out in 2001.
