Music plays just as big a part in Ryan Coogler’s horror hit Sinners as the bloody vampire action, and rapper Rod Wave provided the movie’s title track, “Sinners”. Rising to prominence in 2019 off his viral TikTok hit “Heart on Ice”, Rod Wave has had multiple albums debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 200 album charts, putting him in similar territory as Taylor Swift. He’s the only male artist to have a top ten album debut each year from 2019 to 2024. “Sinners” was released as a single two weeks before the movie’s release and reached #1 on the “Bubbling Under” Hot 100 chart and #23 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts. The song was featured on the movie soundtrack album, with a separate score album featuring the music of Ludwig Göransson. Ryan Coogler directed the music video for “Sinners”, which features Rod Wave driving a Model T in similar locales to the movie and clips from the movie featured throughout. Check it out below.
