Sharks get most of the spotlight in the world of aquatic horror, but a deadly orca arrives in January in Killer Whale.  Virginia Gardner and Mel Jarnson play best friends who are on vacation in a tropical paradise. During an excursion to a remote lagoon with a guy named Josh (Mitchell Hope), the trio is attacked by a killer whale named Ceto, who had been trapped in captivity. After reaching some nearby rocks, Maddie (Gardner) and Trish (Jarnson) must figure out how to survive and get rescued or end up as prey for Ceto. It appears to have The Shallows vibes, and the movie is directed by Jo-Anne Brechin, who co-wrote it with Katharine E. McPhee. Killer Whale is out on January 16th in theaters, Digital, and On Demand, and you can check out the trailer below.
