One of the most beloved and iconic movies of the 80s, you can watch The Goonies in the latest Everything Action Theater. Produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Richard Donner, The Goonies follows the titular group of misfits, who live in the “Goon Docks” area of Astoria, OR. On the eve of being forced to leave their homes due to an expanding country club, The Goonies discover an old map that belonged to legendary pirate One Eyed Willy and set out into the caves under the town to try and find his long-lost treasure. Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Kerri Green, Martha Plimpton, Ke Huy Quan, John Matuszak, Robert Davi, Joe Pantoliano, and Anne Ramsey fill out the fantastic cast full of memorable characters like Chunk and Sloth. The movie made over $125 million worldwide in 1985 and has since been preserved in the Library of Congress. In February last year, a sequel was announced with Spielberg and director Chris Columbus producing, but we’ll have to see if that actually happens.
