While we’ll have to wait until Wednesday this week to see if The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has another hit like “Peaches” on the soundtrack, you can listen to a track from the original Mario animated movie, “Doki-Doki Do It”. Coming off the soundtrack for the 1986 anime film Super Mario Bros: The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach, “Doki-Doki Do It” was performed by the five-member pop group Mirai Douji, who seem to have only existed to create the songs for the anime. The movie’s soundtrack was scored by Toshiyuki Kimori, and an LP was released in Japan alongside the film. The film was one of the first movies based on a video game, along with Running Boy: Star Soldier’s Secret, which was released on the same day as The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach. You can check out the Rock version of “Doki-Doki Do It” below.
