The Odyssey continued to dominate theaters in its second weekend, posting the 10th-best second weekend of all time.
The Odyssey made another $90 million domestically, bringing it to a domestic total of $289.3 million and a worldwide gross of $639.6 million. It’s currently the seventh highest-grossing film worldwide of 2026, but it is rapidly moving up the chart and will probably be fourth by next weekend. It also seems like it will easily cross the $1 billion mark. It only dropped 27.1% from last weekend’s opening, which is the lowest second weekend drop in history for a movie that opened to over $100 million, topping the 27.9% set by Wicked. Internationally, it only dropped 3% and actually saw an increase in business in several territories. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is obviously going to take over the box office this coming weekend, but we’ll have to see how The Odyssey weathers that storm.
Moana was a distant second with $10.6 million. It has $102.6 million domestically and $229.5 million worldwide and is currently the 17th highest-grossing film of 2026.
Hadestown: The Musical was third place with $10.2 million in 1,949 theaters. This was a special event that featured the filmed version of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical.
Toy Story 5 and Minions & Monsters rounded out the top 5, with Toy Story 5 now at $1.02 billion worldwide and Minions & Monsters at $414.2 million worldwide.
Further down the list, Motor City barely opened into the top 10 in ninth place with $1.6 million. The Alan Ritchson-starring action movie got a mixed audience and critic reaction on Rotten Tomatoes and will most likely disappear off the charts and onto PVOD soon.
