Musical Montage: Halsey & Amy Lee “Hand That Feeds”
The John Wick series has relied chiefly on the driving score of Tyler Bates for its soundtrack, but for this weekend’s newest entry in “The World of John Wick”, Ballerina, Halsey, and Amy Lee teamed up for the single “Hand That Feeds”. Halsey previously paid homage to Lee, calling her the inspiration for her song “Lonely is the Muse” and recreating the album cover of Evanescence’s Fallen. The duo revealed their collaboration on May 6th this year, and the single was released on May 9th. They performed the song live in Los Angeles as part of Halsey’s “For My Last Trick: The Tour” concert tour, and Evanescence is the opening act of select dates of that tour. The music video fully leans into the ballerina imagery, with Halsey dressed as a ballet dancer and performing on stage, as well as covered in blood in an alley. Meanwhile, Amy Lee appears in a training room or gym, where she and Halsey use various weapons. Clips from the film featuring Ana de Armas are interspersed throughout.
