The Jetsons came to the big screen 30 years ago this past weekend when Jetsons: The Movie opened, and, with pop star Tiffany voicing Judy Jetson, there was, of course, several songs by her on the movie’s soundtrack, including the single “I Always Thought I’d See You Again”. The movie followed everyone’s favorite future family as they relocated to a remote asteroid mining site, which George (George O’Hanlon) has been tasked with overseeing. The rest of the family has a hard time adjusting at first, especially Judy, who had a chance at a date with rock star Cosmic Cosmo (Steve McClintock) but lost it due to the move. Trying to take her mind off of it, she ends up in an extremely ironic “Nature Zone” and finds nothing but happily in love teen couples, which is where the song plays. Tiffany also had the songs “Home” and “You and Me” on the movie’s soundtrack. There was some controversy among longtime Jetsons fans, as original Judy voice actress Janet Waldo had recorded all of her dialogue for the film but was replaced by Tiffany, as executives believed she would draw in younger audiences. You can check out the scene from the movie that features “I Always Thought I’d See You Again” below.
