While the series may have ended on a disappointing note this year with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, you can head back and watch the one that started it all in the latest Everything Action Theater. Released in 1996 and directed by the legendary Brian De Palma, Mission: Impossible was based on the TV series of the same name and introduced the world to super spy Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), whose team is killed on a mission in Prague. Looking to discover who the mole in the Impossible Mission Force is who got his team killed, Hunt has to go rogue and make a deal with arms dealer “Max” to exchange the CIA’s “Non-Official Cover” list for $10 million and the mole’s identity. The movie received critical acclaim, although there were some criticisms over how convoluted the plot could be at times, and it was the third-highest-grossing movie of 1996. Cruise returned for every subsequent sequel, all leading to this year’s Final Reckoning, which features several cameos and references to the first movie. You can watch the entire film below via YouTube.
