Soundtracks have always been an important part of the Scream franchise, and this week’s Scream 7 continues the trend with the song “Twisting the Knife” by Ice Nine Kills, featuring Scream 7 co-star McKenna Grace. Ice Nine Kills have been incredibly influenced by the horror genre, with songs inspired by American Psycho, Child’s Play, Resident Evil, My Bloody Valentine, Pet Semetary, and more. The band also previously worked with Scream (and Scream 7) co-star Matthew Lillard to produce a bourbon called Horrorwood Reserve for Lillard’s Macabre Spirits brand, and promoted it with a single called “The Laugh Track” featuring Lillard in the music video. McKenna Grace was signed to Photo Finish Records in 2020 and has released several singles, the first of which, “Haunted House,” was included in the end credits of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. She also released an EP called Bittersweet 16 in 2023. The music video for “Twisting the Knife” is packed to the gills with Ghostface, as a giant Ghostface looms over the band and multiple smaller Ghostfaces appear as well.
