With Zootopia 2 recently becoming the highest-grossing film domestically for movies released in 2025 and the original film celebrating its 10th anniversary this week, it seems like the perfect time to highlight Shakira’s song “Try Everything” from the soundtrack.
Written by Sia, Shakira performed the song in Zootopia as pop star Gazelle, the biggest musical act in Zootopia. Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) listens to the song on her way into Zootopia, and it comes back for the movie’s end credits. The song was a hit, reaching #63 on the Billboard Hot 100 and going 4x Platinum in the US. It reached #1 in Lebanon and Japan, and was also a top-10 hit in South Korea and Belgium. The song was originally recorded by Fifth Harmony for their debut EP, but it was eventually scrapped. Shakira returned for Zootopia 2 with the song “Zoo” but it doesn’t seem to have quite the same impact as “Try Everything”.
