Mega Cat Studios is bringing over-the-top retro chaos to PC and the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive with Lethal Wedding, a new top-down shooter inspired by Zombies Ate My Neighbors and classic ’80s action movies like Die Hard.
Originally announced for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive with a physical cartridge edition launching on Kickstarter on June 2, the game is also heading to Steam. Developed by Mega Cat Studios and published by 8 Bit Legit, Lethal Wedding puts players in control of a bride and her mother-in-law as they blast through hordes of criminal clowns to rescue the kidnapped groom-to-be.
The game features two-player couch co-op, more than 30 levels, and a ridiculous arsenal that includes explosive flower bouquets, banana SMGs, and bunny-launching weapons. A new trailer released alongside the announcement shows off the game’s frantic action and chaotic clown carnage:
Lethal Wedding will also feature a “Vow System” that adds optional high-risk objectives during missions, along with character upgrades and plenty of retro-inspired action. Fans can wishlist the game on Steam now, ahead of the Kickstarter launch next month.
