During his solo career after the Eagles disbanded, Glenn Frey was no stranger to soundtrack songs, and he contributed “Part of Me, Part of You” to the soundtrack for 1991’s Thelma & Louise. Frey had soundtrack hits on Beverly Hills Cop, Miami Vice, and Ghostbusters II. He also would have had “Shakedown” from Beverly Hills Cop II, but he didn’t like the lyrics and then contracted laryngitis, so Bob Seger was given the track. Along with Frey, the Thelma & Louise soundtrack included tracks from Martha Reeves, BB King, Michael McDonald, The Temptations, and several others. “Part of Me, Part of You” was released as a single and reached #55 on the Billboard Hot 100. For the music video, along with the requisite clips from the film, there’s an interesting opening shot that makes it seem like Frey is sitting on the back of a car going down the highway, but then most of the video is him in a room with landscapes similar to the film projected behind him.
