Toy Story 5 is out in theaters this weekend and, as is tradition, there’s a big soundtrack song to go along with it. It doesn’t get much bigger than Taylor Swift, who contributed “I Knew It, I Knew You”. Inspired by Jesse (Joan Cusack), who has become the leader of the toys following Woody’s departure in Toy Story 4, the song is a bit of a return to Swift’s country roots, a pop-country ballad with blues and folk elements, and it’s definitely more upbeat than the previous Jesse-focused song. Swift wrote and produced the song with Jack Antonoff, and her involvement was kept top secret by Disney, which produced a decoy version of the film without the song to prevent any leaks. The song was released on June 5th and quickly became the most-streamed country song by a female artist in a single day on Spotify and the most-streamed soundtrack song in history on Apple Music. It also reached #1 in Australia, Austria, Germany, and the UK, and it debuted at #8 on the Country Airplay Billboard chart. The music video is made up exclusively of Jesse-centric clips from Toy Story 2 forward, and you can check it out below.
