Musical Montage: Brandon Roberts “Brasso”

If you’ve been watching Andor Season 2, you know that in between all the excellent drama and tension, arguably the biggest banger in Star Wars history was dropped with the track “Brasso” from Episode 3 (Mild Spoilers Ahead).  Played at the wedding of Mon Mothma’s (Genevieve O’Reilly) daughter by some sort of DJ droid to kick off the main festivities, it’s juxtaposed between a desperate escape from the Empire by Cassian (Diego Luna), Bix (Adria Arjona), Brasso (Joplin Sibtain), and Wilmon (Muhannad Bhaier), all of whom won’t make it out alive.  The track is a remix of a song created for the first season by composer Nicholas Brittell, “Niamos!” which itself got two remixes, a “Galaxy Mix” and a “Morlana Club Mix” and was first heard when Andor is trying to lay low on a resort planet but is arrested and sent to the prison on Narkina 5. “Brasso” is also memorable for the already meme’d scene of Mon getting absolutely snockered to try and forget for a moment all the crises building up around her.  You can listen to the track below via an official hour-long video released below.
