In the wake of Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer in the late 90s, a whole slew of new teen slasher movies hit theaters, including 1998’s Urban Legend, which you can watch in the latest Everything Action Theater. Directed by Jamie Blanks, Urban Legend follows a group of college students in New England who start getting murdered in ways that mimic popular urban legends, like eating Pop Rocks and cola causes your stomach to explode. The movie featured Jared Leto, Alicia Witt, Rebecca Gayheart, Tara Reid, and Michael Rosenbaum, along with horror veterans Robert Englund, Danielle Harris, and Brad Dourif. The movie was a hit, making $72.5 million worldwide, and spawned two sequels.
