The worlds of Karate Kid and Bloodsport combined in 1993 for the brutal martial arts movie Shootfighter: Fight to the Death, which you can watch in the latest Everything Action Theater. William Zabka and Michael Bernardo star as students who are drawn into the underground world of shootfighting, where the matches don’t end until someone is unconscious or dead. Ruben (Zabka) runs a martial arts school and owes money to the mob. The tournament is run by the evil Mr. Lee, played by Martin Kove, who wants a rematch with Ruben and Nick’s (Bernardo) sifu, Shingo, played by Bloodsport big bad Bolo Yeung. Zabka, Bernardo, and Yeung all returned for the movie’s sequel, Shootfighter II in 1996. You can check out the entire movie below.
