
Celebrating its 30th anniversary this past weekend, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of the darker and more mature movies of Disney’s “Renaissance Era,” but it was still a big Broadway-style musical. The great Alan Menken composed the movie’s score and wrote the songs with Stephen Schwartz. The biggest song off the soundtrack was “Someday”, which played over the end credits and was recorded by All-4-One for the US release and UK girl group Eternal for the UK release. The soundtrack also features “Hellfire”, performed by Tony Jay, which is considered by many to be the greatest Disney villain song of all time. “Somedy” reached #30 as the lead single off the movie’s soundtrack, and the album reached #11 on the Billboard Hot 200 album charts and was certified platinum. You can check out several of the songs from the movie below.
